Ballet dancer takes centre stage at Foundation Park cafe

It’s true what they say about not judging a book by the cover. We came across professional dancer Anett Murkl running Caffé Kix on Foundation Park at Canon Lane, Maidenhead.

She has taken over as manager of the café on the business park which has become first choice for major companies including Lexmark.

Although Anett has danced in major productions including the famous Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Copellia in the main Opera Theatre in Budapest, a knee injury forced her to retire from the professional stage.

Anett, who now lives in Maidenhead, is an experienced barista which combined with her business degree will help in her new role at Foundation Park which was one of the first business parks to embrace the ethos of Caffé Kix; a specialist independent workplace café operator that brings café culture to business parks and provides a relaxed environment for office workers to take a break and enjoy food and freshly brewed coffee away from their desk.

Anett is delighted to have been given the management role and said “This is a big opportunity for me and I am looking forward to providing the food and drinks which are already popular here as well as suggesting my own ideas at this lovely location.”

We go to a lot of networking events and time and again we discover amazing talent within the business community in Berkshire. Sometimes the expertise is obvious but, most of the time, people have hidden depths usually found in their backgrounds.

These stories are not just a good talking point. The expertise people have can often be extremely useful and worth tapping into. That is the beauty of networking. Ask people about their background. You’ll be surprised what you will unearth.

And if you want to unleash your own potential you should check out the Thames Valley Training & Development Open Day at Bucks New University Campus on September 19 at the Gateway Building from 1pm to 9pm.

It could be the gateway to a whole new career. A load of different training courses are on offer taught by face-to-face instruction supported by practical work, in several areas including accountancy and business; technical IT; law; IT applications; and counselling. All courses are accredited by professional bodies such as Cisco, HP, Microsoft, ISMM, CMI and CILEx.
