So many people say to me that they get most of their new business from referrals…
And the first thing that comes in to my head is that’s because they are not knocking on the doors of any strangers themselves!
Referrals are great, they make us feel good but you need to find new business leads for yourself.
- Make sure you say hello to three strangers every day… set aside 30 minutes during your day, probably in the morning when you are freshest & therefore at your bravest…
- Have 1 thing in your head that you want to introduce, don’t try and sell 20 products in your first conversation! Have one service / product in mind and make your aim to say hello and introduce what you do…
- Rather than trying to sell, focus on building the relationship which is obviously going to take time… so invite them to receive your regular email newsletter…
In 3 months time you will be like old friends, the conversation will flow and they are likely to give you a call when they have a need for what you have… success!
But it all starts with you picking up the phone and smiling & dialling 😉
Thank you.

I have an icebreaking strategy: create something of value you can give away to potential clients that contains details of you and your company. Some of the people that receive it may just decide to call you. Reciprocation. 🙂
