Is your copy written for the search engines?

If it is then chances are, it’ll not do very much for your business!

I must have had three emails this week telling me my website was not any good at SEO… so many ex-spurts, so little time…

“Hello & Good Day! My name is Vijay Saxena, Marketing Manager for an international marketing company based in India. While studying your website I couldn’t help noticing it lacked any significant ranking in Google – for any of your keywords. As you already suspect, this means your site is virtually invisible to potential customers searching for a supplier in your field. It’s as though you’d made an expensive TV ad and then forgotten to buy any airtime for people to see it! My company can solve this problem for you…”

First question, so what are my key words, second question, do I care?

Only 1 person can be top of Google out of the millions of potential pages… so why would I waste my time focusing on getting Google to focus on me for some key phrases that are probably not all that hot? If I get 1 in 1000 pages flying I’d be doing incredibly well statistically but it would eat all my time and or resources…

I have set my personal goal on creating 4 stories a day…

In this way I am not focused on Google but focused on producing interesting content that Berkshire business people can connect to in some way so they share either my name or “The Berkshire Blog” with those they meet and discuss new business ideas with… the smarter ones signing up for my blog… are you one of my brighter readers? Tee-hee 😉

My 4PM onthisday blog is easy to do… 2PM has a human touch, that is usually by someone else and I’ve asked if I can borrow it… 12PM is for my client promotions & 10AM is all about me… these are either created at the weekend or during the evening while watching TV… I need to feel I am smiling & dialing during traditional office hours… call me old fashioned!

Making it much easier for Google & real humans to find me 24/7…

Thank you.

Jon
