Rotary Club Windsor and Eton ONE BOAT 45

The ONE BOAT Project gets underway with TWO BOATS!

The name of the ONE BOAT project came about while discussing the needs of the people of the Philippines with Jesse Tanchanco & Allan Limas, local Rotarians.

I’ve just received an email from Jess Tanchanco from the Rotary Club of Loyola Heights who we donated £500 to for ONE BOAT… they teamed up with sister club the Rotary Club of Ormoc who had negotiated a reduced price on producing 50 boats… taking our additional funding & adding some anonymous funding meant they named TWO BOATS after The Rotary Club of Windsor & Eton.

These boats have been handed over to fishermen in the nearby town of Albuera, Philippines…

Dear Jesse,

Please find the attached pictures of boats 45 &46 sponsored by RC Windsor and Eton. These gifts are really worth the efforts of all the Rotarians. We will start meeting the fishermen next week to give them the training on financial management and care of environment to provide them the insights and aptitude towards working well and working hard for that common goal of improving their lives.
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Ormoc, our warmest felicitations to everyone and much much appreciation for this donation.

We have also invested in another boat via Allan C. LIMAS, Chair of Rotary Club Banilad Metro Disaster Response Missions and he’ll be reporting in shortly… that will make it THREE BOATS.

My goal for 2014 is to make it FIFTY BOATS…

The people of the Philippines lost 100,000 fishing boats in the hurricane of November 2013!

50 is a small but achievable goal by the magic of Rotary funding arrangements…

By raising £500 from 12 local Rotary Clubs… what we raise will be doubled by Rotary District & essentially doubled again by Rotary International! Giving us enough money to buy 50 boats… yeehaa!

My fellow Rotarian has agreed to do the paperwork required, leaving me to go and get commitment from 12 clubs… so my vision is to approach those Rotary Clubs in our club’s Zone (part of the District) and then move on to District as required.

If you would like me to come and talk to your Rotary Club about the ONE BOAT Project then please complete the form below…

Thank you.
