Enjoy the video from last year…
You are invited to enter your company or club for the fun event of the summer season, High Wycombe Rotary Club’s Dragon Boat Race Sunday June 2014.
Squads of up to 15 people, aged 18+, take part in a 36 dragon boat tournament with heats held throughout the day and by the end of it you might be lucky enough to be this year’s winning team but that doesn’t really matter… you’ll have had a blooming good family day out, free fun fair & face painting! And have helped raise thousands of pounds for local charities.
The entry fee for a team is £495 (£450.00 IF PAID BY JANUARY 1ST 2015) and each team raises at least another £250 which is then shared between the main event charities, which this year are Wycombe Women’s Aid, Kids in Sport and other Rotary Charities. Anything over £250 you can then gift to your own charities if you so wish.
Larger companies tend to pay £745 and take the pressure of their pampered employees! Smaller organisations get their employees to raise the money because they are used to the cut & thrust of having to negotiate tough business deals… let the banter begin 😉
At this time we’re simply looking for commitment from companies, sports & social clubs and team leaders to join in. There are 36 slots available with a number, shortly to be posted here, already committed…
On January 1st… or perhaps a few days after depending on my head! We’ll launch individual team crowd funding accounts so you can start to raise money for the charities…
All I need you to do at this time is join this patch & make a comment below to the effect that you will be entering a team for the 2015 race. I will then contact you individually to do the admin & arrange delivery of images & text to create your Dragon Boat Project page…
Your page will look something like this one I have created for Windsor’s older people’s
Christmas lunch at the Spencer Denney Centre >>>
Thank you.
