When I was a lad, my father helped me fund my desire to own a Carlton Criterium racing bike…
I was around 11/12 and the bike was £99 (just seen the same bike (1971) on ebay for £129!). The agreement was I would raise 1/3rd and dad paid the balance…
A year of lawn cutting, car washing money for Christmas & I had the funds required to make this happen… HURRAH 😉 Dad didn’t want to ride the bike or claim any ownership, he simply wanted to help me on my journey, teaching me a life lessons along the way.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), as defined by Wikipedia, is a form of corporate self-regulation integrated into a business model. CSR policy functions as a self-regulatory mechanism whereby a business monitors and ensures its active compliance with the spirit of the law, ethical standards and international norms. With some models, a firm’s implementation of CSR goes beyond compliance and engages in “actions that appear to further some social good, beyond the interests of the firm and that which is required by law.” CSR aims to embrace responsibility for corporate actions and to encourage a positive impact on the environment and stakeholders including consumers, employees, investors, communities, and others.
Corporate Social Responsibility is not just for big companies, companies of all sizes can join in. It has been shown that for larger companies, their stock value increases if they are seen to be helping the local communities in which they conduct business. For smaller organisations then it could well be that business owners, grateful for their own success, would like to help out locally but have no time to manage any external contact.
CROWDPATCH can act as a conduit for businesses to engage with local communities and help them as groups or individuals find those in the crowd who would like to help them on their journey for business or personal reasons.
If you would like me to call in and discuss how you might like to help the local community and I can then make recommendations on how that might take shape to address your CSR needs.
