aka Pauly Zarb International Street Concert is taking place on Saturday 30th May in the Market Place, Wokingham at 6:30PM and the cost is FREE!
Back by popular demand, Wokingham Town Centre will again become an open air “grand concert hall” with a series of performances by international musicians.
Local performer Pauly Zarb returns with acclaimed South African comedian Mark Palmer as MC, acts the Hussy Hicks and Jimmi Nolan (both from Australia) and returning headline act Antsy McClain and the Trailer Park Troubadours (Nashville, Tennesee) who delighted and charmed the audience last year.
There were around 1000 people enjoyed the evening last year… this year we want to double the crowd 😉
It costs around £20,000 to put on such an event and so we need local business people and generous local citizens to help us raise that money…
Phil Creighton, editor & publisher of The Wokingham Paper which sold over 10,000 copies of its first edition has stepped forward to help make the event a success.
“We’re only too pleased to help Gwynneth and Wokingham Town Council raise funds for Wokingham’s International Street Concert and get the summer of to a great start!” commented Phil.
With most of the money raised going to Wokingham Town Council to fund the event, the plan is to cover the build up to Wokingham’s International Street Concert in the coming weeks in The Wokingham Paper and to get the news out to the immediate surrounding area via The Berkshire Blog. The Wokingham Paper sold over 10,000 copies and The Berkshire Blog has a reach of some 10,000+ people, so together, along with local sharing via Facebook, Twitter & Yahoo Groups, the news should get out and so we get a great crowd on the day.
There are three opportunities to support the event through advertising… you might use the half or full page to promote your business, then again, you might use it to say hello to someone you love, maybe say thank you to a community group who does great work in the area… you decide, it’s your brass 😉
