Bracknell Forest Community Learning is contracted by the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) to develop the skills, confidence, motivation and resilience of adults of different ages and backgrounds in order to (a) improve their health and well-being, including mental health and/or (b) progress towards formal learning or employment, and/or (c) develop stronger communities. Under the ESFA contract, Bracknell Forest Community Learning works towards borough-specific aims and objectives. Community Learning is looking to subcontract services in relation to: Targeted learning – focused on improving outcomes for disadvantaged groups facing barriers to progression, including residents in social housing (under Lot 1); Employability and skills, including digital skills (under Lot 2); Health and well-being – learning intended to improve, or maintain, health and/or social well-being, especially of older people and those with additional learning needs or physical disabilities (under Lot 3) and Developing stronger communities, with more self-sufficient, connected and proactive citizens, leading to increased volunteering, civic engagement and social integration (under Lot 4). The total funding available for all lots is £25,000 per year, for three years (subject to ESFA funding announcements). The contract term will be from 1st September 2018 – 31st July 2021, subject to satisfactory performance review and continued funding by the ESFA. A one-year extension may be sought (3+1).
