Based on the Department of Health’s Healthy Child Programme (HCP) and Public Health England Commissioning Guidance 2015. The provision of the Public Health Nursing Service 0-19 (up to 25 years for young people with special educational needs and disabilities).
The levels of service include community, universal, universal plus and universal partnership plus; 5 health reviews, 6 high impact areas and the National Child Measurement Programme. Universal access and early identification of additional and/or complex needs, with timely access to specialist services, to secure local services that enable health visiting and school nursing teams to contribute to improved local outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children and young people, maximising specialist public health, defined clinical and public health skills, professional judgment, autonomy and leadership.
The Council proposes to enter into one Contract for a period of 3 years with provision for a 2 year extension with the successful Tenderer (Contractor). The Council will reserve the right to terminate the contact with 6 months’ notice at any time in order to jointly procure a contract with Reading Borough Council and Wokingham Borough Council in 2021 for the services. It is therefore likely that this contract may expire on the first anniversary of the contract.
The commencement date is 1st April 2020.
